This year’s show was a great success and was once again very well organised. We were delighted to see such a strong turn out each day and really felt like the event was being well managed throughout the three days.

There was as always excellent management by the Society of Genealogists. The programme of society vendors, experts from across the field, and relevant workshops were also a key attraction at the event.

There was a great sense of team work between all the Irish exhibitors this year as we worked together to make sure anyone who had hit a brick wall in their Irish research had some sort of advice on where to go next. Among the Irish exhibitors were, The Irish Family History Society’s Noel Jenkins and Mary Beglan. The Cork Genealogy Summer School’s Lorna Moloney. Clare Doyle and Laura Colleran fromIreland Reaching Out also had a stand at this year’s event along with The Northern Ireland Family History Society who were also exhibiting at the show. The National Archives of Ireland and The National Library of Ireland were also representing the Irish side. It was great to see so many of us there this year as it meant we could really spread the word and help any attendees looking for help getting past their Irish brick walls.

Manning the stand at this year’s event for Eneclann was Laura Carroll, Orla McCartney and our Research expert Daniel Purcell, who all did a great job.

The event was a great way for us to get word out about our new Irish Family History Centre opening in May as part of the EPIC Ireland visitor experience in the CHQ building in Dublin. It was great to see the excitement from people about this new centre opening in Dublin and the fact that we will also have a new interactive website  launching in May also got people talking and received great feedback. We can’t wait to share it with everyone come May.

There were several lectures delivered on Irish family history, by our own Fiona Fitzsimons and Brian Donovan which were very popular as always.

Our friends at Findmypast were of course also exhibiting and as always knocked it out of the park this year with an amazing display set up and selection of records available to browse online which engaged the attendees through the show. They also entertained attendees and exhibitors at the educational zone with a selection of talks, exciting new announcements and event magic tricks!

Over all Eneclann had a very strong attendance for the three days of the show. It was a delight to see so many new faces and to also welcome back regular faces who had progress since last year in their research. we are great fans of the venue and the attendees as always really made us feel very welcome.
